I am done with work for the year and now can focus exclusively on getting ready for my trip. We have 4 students who have chosen to stay in the US. I am guessing my parents wish I would make that choice as well. :) Evidently, the ceasefire has been rejected. I still believe that Jerusalem will be reasonably safe. The various people that the University and Law School talked to in an effort to decide whether to cancel or not, all say that Jerusalem seems to be calm and that the rockets can't reach it from Gaza.
In the meantime, I am headed to ring in the New Year with the Singles group from church.
Happy New Year!

Anticipation
It is now two days and counting until my flight to Israel. Today has been kind of a rollercoaster as the program I will be supporting has been on the verge of cancellation due to the up turn in violence in Gaza. As of 3 or so this afternoon, it sounds like we are still going. We will be mostly in Jerusalem anyway, which is fairly safe and a good distance from Gaza (out of rocket range). Although I am EXTREMELY excited, I am also a bit apprehensive, in a way that I don't remember being 15 years ago when I was last in Israel. In the meantime, I have much work to do before I leave and better get back to it. Please add safe travels for all in my group to your prayers.
